The essential oil difference!
Share
Why essential oils? What’s the big deal? It is just another way to scent a candle, right? Although using essential oils is a different way to add fragrance to a candle, the effects are much different than those of a typical retail candle. Most candles are scented with what are known as fragrance oils. These fragrance oils are made of synthetic materials to allow for a stronger scent using less oil. Sounds good! Right? The harm is sugar-coated in their sweet scents. They can emit harmful gases into the air that can result in headaches, nausea, and even skin irritation after long exposure. Essential oils are a natural and healthier alternative. These oils are naturally derived from plants using a variety of methods, including steam distillation, cold pressing, solvent extraction, or CO2 extraction, depending on what is best suited for the plant. Using essential oils gives a cleaner, less harsh scent that leaves you refreshed. Each candle is uniquely made with quality and use in mind. Enjoy a guilt-free candle burning experience knowing that you are using a natural product.
Please note that individuals who are pregnant should be careful with any candle burning, as there is extra sensitivity during this time. While essential oils are a safe alternative to fragrance oils, certain oils should be avoided during pregnancy. It will be noted in the description of the candle if the scent is unsuitable for pregnancy, but it is best to consult a doctor regarding general candle use while pregnant.
